God is King. God is Creator. God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. God is before all things and will exist long after all things are gone. God is the Lord of all.
Most Christians would agree with the these assertions.
So why don't we live like those things are true?
Why do we live as if the economy is what we have to worry about? Why do we live as if what the doctor has to say is what we have to worry about? Why do we live as though our home is what we have to worry about?
Let me make some people angry.
Why do we live as though abortion, homosexuality, border crossings, presidents, radical feminism, vaccines, our country, and crime is what what we need to worry about.”
Follow me here.
Christians would agree that Jesus is God in the flesh and therefore all the attributes of God apply to Him, although He temporarily left some of them behind for the time He was on earth. So anything commanded by Jesus was commanded by God.
Now, after rising from the dead, Christ went back to heaven and the last thing he told us to do was to preach the gospel to all nations. Our King Jesus who is God omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, told us to Go and make disciples of all the nations and He promised to be with us always even to the end of the age (Matt. 28:19,20).
So why don't we live like people who have been commanded to preach the gospel instead of like people who have to fight tooth and nail over every issue with which we take umbrage?
Let me ask a question to Christians. When was the last time you talked to someone about the gospel compared to the last time you talked to someone about the variety of issues listed above?
Don't get me wrong. I'm a patriot and I probably agree morally with you on most of those issues, but why spend our time arguing about them?
The only thing that can change the world is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Legislation and condemning debate cannot change things. For these things to change, hearts must change, and only the gospel of Christ changes hearts.
Change can only happen through people trusting that Jesus died on the cross for our sins because every one of us are sinners and cannot save ourselves. That is the only message that can save us, save our country, save the world and Christian, you have been entrusted with that message by the Creator of the Universe Himself.
What are you doing about it?
I'm not saying it's wrong to take a stand on issues of morality, but if that is all you do and you never share Christ, I think it is sin, sin reminiscent of Jesus' warning to the church of Ephesus. “I know your deeds and your labor and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people, and you have put those who call themselves apostles to the test, and they are not, and you found them to be false, and you have perseverance and have endured on account of My name, and have not become weary. But I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” (Rev. 2: 2-4)
If you are not a Christian, pay no attention to the encouragement I have been giving to Christians. The only thing that matters to you is that you trust Jesus as your Savior and if you want to know more get in touch with me or the church, please and don't put it off.
If you are a Christian, be obedient. The message of life is in your heart, let it out. If you don't know how … ask how … learn and then go out into all the world. Jesus will be with you always.
Imagine what would happen in our country if Christians were obedient.
